My Mission

Women Wanting Wellness is a counseling practice focused on the treatment of women with mood, anxiety, & adjustment disorders from childbearing years through menopause. Donna works with pregnant & postpartum mothers suffering with mood illnesses or difficulties adjusting to parenthood. As a marriage and family therapist, she offers couples counseling helping partners work through interpersonal challenges. It is Donna's sincere commitment to provide an environment of respect where trust grows & healing begins. A therapeutic relationship provides a safe place where clients can identify their feelings, gain clarity, discover options, & recognize they are not alone.
Background
Women Wanting Wellness is a private counseling practice started in 1999 by Donna Monk, a Registered Nurse, and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology. Donna has been in practice using her nursing and counseling skills in a variety of settings. She is a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.
Donna has been providing psychotherapy for individuals, couples, and families since 1995. She has served as a crisis counselor at a local high school where she provided counseling services to adolescents and pregnant teens. Donna is also a Registered Nurse who has worked in hospital nursing, community health, prenatal education, and college health meeting the physical and emotional needs of young adults. She has been a certified childbirth educator and an accredited parent educator.
Currently, Donna maintains a private psychotherapy practice that services Bucks and Montgomery counties. Combining her counseling skills with her nursing background, she focuses on the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders including postpartum psychiatric disorders as well as pregnancy and infant loss. She also provides couples counseling as well as grief support.
